We Made Some Friends!

Last night we attended the Aperitif (which is also an alcoholic drink consumed before your meal) hosted by our hostel. At first it was a little awkward because by the time we got there everyone was in little groups chatting, so Electra and I chatted with eachother. After a few proseccos (sort of like champagne) drinks, we began to break out of our shells and start chatting with some people. We ended up getting invited to dinner with two guys from Australia and a girl from Canada. By the time we were ready to head to the restaurant the group expanded to about a dozen people. Electra and I sat at a table with another Australian, two German sisters, and a guy from Poland. Everyone was VERY nice and we had a blast! The name of the place was Ristorante La Lamada and I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Rome. It’s just a little mom and pop kind of joint but the food and service were amazing. Electra ordered a pasta Carbonara dish and I ordered gorgonzola gnocci. Both dishes were extremely delicious. We got out of the place paying 37 euros for the two of us including two glasses of wine. So far we aren’t too impressed with the wine, but we’ve only just begun!

Vino!

Today we're headed to the Vatican. We're taking a 3hr walking tour of the Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basillica. Can't wait!
